The original design of the family flag

This is the drawing I made at full size of final carving

This shows the original stone which came from the commissioners house during a renovation.

I used the string to ensure that the dimensions of the stone were the same as the original drawing

Once the shape is worked and smooth, only then can carving of the detail begin.

the final carving now cleaned of dust showing the lines of calcite with in the limestone. This is typical of Combe Down Stone.
